Primary (K-2)
We believe that using hands-on instruction to implement our curriculum fosters skills that children need to be successful: critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. Active learning encourages a lifelong love of learning and motivates children to explore and discover new things.
Our Language Arts program uses SuperKids reading series and incorporates The Daily Five and Orton-Gillingham practices - a multisensory approach that focuses on phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary development, fluency, and comprehension strategies. Children also learn and use Tucker Signing Strategies, a program that uses hand signs to build letter-sound associations.
Using Singapore Math, students develop number sense and learn to think critically and mathematically by using manipulatives and problem solving strategies.
Students participate in daily Religion classes that teach the basics of our Catholic religion with an emphasis on social justice.
Social Studies provide real-life, hands on opportunities for students to think critically.
Students attend the STEM lab each week to investigate science through experiments, games, and Project Lead The Way units.
As part of our commitment to foster growth in the whole child, our students participate in Music, Art, and Physical Education classes twice each week.
