Intermediate (3-5)
Intermediate grades are self-contained classes.
In Math, the focus is on problem solving using Singapore strategies.
Religion classes focus on social justice and developing a deeper understanding of the Catholic faith.
Students work to improve comprehension and critical thinking skills while reading and responding to varieties of texts, fiction and nonfiction.
Critical thinking skills are further developed in Social Studies.
Students attend the STEM lab each week to investigate science through experiments, games, and Project Lead The Way units.
Experiences outside the classroom play a large role in our curriculum. Fourth graders have an overnight learning opportunity at Camp Tecumseh and Fifth and Sixth graders work at JA Biztown.
As part of our commitment to foster growth in the whole child, our students participate in Music, Art, and Physical Education classes twice each week with opportunities to join band and liturgical choir.
