Welcome to 5th Grade! 

This year, I'm teaming up with Mrs. E to teach your student everything they need to know in 5th grade. We work hard to build independence, responsibility, accountability, and a life long love of learning. Our goal is that smoothly transition students from elementary school to middle school. 

I teach Reading, Language Arts, Writing, and Social studies. In Reading class, we focus on critical reading and analytical thinking. We investigate the author's purpose, hidden messages and themes, and the greater impact of a story. In Language Arts, we pull apart words and build our vocabulary. In Writing, we learn to persuade and inform based on research. In Social Studies, we explore the world, understanding how the past impacts the future. 

By the end of 5th grade, students have been packed with knowledge and the skills that prepare them for middle school!
