Hello! My name is Emily Pingel and I am so excited to be one of your 5th grade teachers! This will be my first year teaching! As a brand new teacher, I know there will be lots for me to learn, and I'm grateful to be able to do it with all of you! I have a little 2 year-old nephew named Leo and he's my favorite person in the world. I love learning about history and the deep sea because we are constantly discovering new things that change how we view each topic.

In 5th grade, students jump head first into a rich and rigorous academic life. All of their past knowledge from the previous years gets put to the test as they dissect text, make inferences, and defend their opinions. Students will work more independently, creating larger projects to display their knowledge.
