Mrs. Reasner's Classroom Page

Welcome! First grade is by far the most fun grade I have taught because of all the excitement, joy, curiosity, and love of learning the students bring with them every day. There are a lot of firsts in this grade and "light bulb" or "a-ha" moments happen daily. I love being a part of a student's learning journey of when they "get" the new material and want to know more. It is so cool!

In first grade we read books, books, and more books! We add and subtract bigger numbers, work with shapes, clocks, measuring, and fractions. Science plays a big part in our learning with fun labs to help foster the questions. We talk about past and present events and learn how we can help the future (especially the environment- the things that need a voice).

This year, our school theme is Around the World, and we are embracing it in our classroom by talking about the environment- starting in our backyard and moving out. I can't wait to start this learning journey and see where the year takes us!
